Plattsville-Bright teams are doing quite well as they approach the mid-point of their
schedules in the South Oxford Softball League. The Atom B's (5 wins,
2 losses), Lassie's (7 wins, 0 losses) and Squirt Boys (7 wins, 1 tie) each lead
their division outright. The Peewee Girls (5 wins, 2 losses) are in a
three way tie for first place. The Atom A's (5 wins, 3 losses) are in 4th
place. The Bantam Girls (2 wins, 5 losses) are improving rapidly and look
good to move up in their standing. Click on the link to the South Oxford Softball League website in the "Links" section below for complete details of team standings in all divisions. For last weeks scores and highlights, click here. The Peewee Girls have qualified for the championship final in the Hickson Tournament but are having trouble getting that game in. Wet weather forced the game to be cancelled once again on June 18. The game will be played but at this point the date has not been set. Plattsville's opposition will be Ayr in what should be a close and exciting match-up. Good luck Peewees! This coming weekend the Lassie's will participate in a tournament at Tavistock. Their first game is at 8:30 Saturday morning against Wellesley. |

Weather was perfect for the "Flip the Switch" celebration held on June 17.
PBMSA teams had their offical team and individual pictures taken from 4:00 p.m.
until 6:00 p.m. Those who stayed around were then entertained by 3-pitch
and soccer games involving some of the younger players. The men's division
of the home run derby was won by Plattsville arena manager Darren Hall in an
exciting tie-breaker. A team of PBMSA coaches and "Light Up the Millennium"
committee members then took on the CHAM radio celebrities team in a slo-pitch
game under the new and very impressive diamond lights. A lucky woman from New Hamburg won both both the firstprize quilt and second prize afghan made and donated by Mrs. Elva Davidson. A lucky ticket-holder from Paris won the propane barbecue. |
